House Concert w/ Scott Kirby

Scott Kirby, the finest singer/songwriter from Key West for the last 20 years, will make a rare Southern California appearance on Sunday, August 1st at a house concert in El Cajon. Many of you have heard Scott in Key West and you can check out his web site at www.scottkirby.com in the meantime. Scott is embarking on a 4 month cross country tour and we’re very fortunate to have him join us in San Diego

I get to open the show at 2 p.m. The house concert is poolside in a beautiful tropical setting and limited to the first 60 guests to RSVP.

Location will be given with your RSVP. Doors open at 1:30, music from 2-6 p.m. and the suggested donation $20 per person is for the artists. Please bring a beach chair, a dish to share and what you wish to drink. My and Scott’s CD’s will also be available for purchase.

A little more about Scott: Although the comparison to Jimmy Buffett is natural because of his coastal life ranging from his grandparents’ roots in Newfoundland, to his years on the coast of New England, to his current home in Key West, his storytelling style of songwriting and often humorous live performances are also reminiscent of folks like Harry Chapin, Jerry Jeff Walker and Steve Goodman with a dash of James Taylor thrown in.

He recently appeared at The Margaritaville Café in Key West with Jimmy Buffett and Mac MacAnally and has appeared with a number of other artists over the years from Carole King to Livingston Taylor, fellow New Hampshire native Tom Rush and many others, as well as being a mainstay at The Key West Songwriters Festival which has grown into one of the largest and most prestigious such events in the country.

We'll be at John and Pam Brains' home and they will be providing a main dish of some sort ... how cool is that!

Everyone should plan to bring a potluck dish to share and anything you want to drink, both alcoholic and non. There will be a grill available if anyone wants to grill up some burgers, dogs, chicken or something! Also, lawn chairs would be advisable!!

Here's the scoop: First, bringing a "finger food" to share would be appreciated. There will be a cash bar available, so please ... no 'carry-in' alcohol. Hatch House Concert

A beautiful home in a beautiful location ... Danny and Piper Hatch are so excited to open their home and host Mark Mulligan and I for this rare Mexico Mark appearance in North San Diego County!

Like most house concerts you'll need to bring a beach chair (or whatever kind of chair you'd like ... I mean, knock yourself out! you could even bring a lazy-boy recliner if you want! ;), bring your favorite beverage and a dish to share.

Doors will open at six ... the music begins at six-thirty!

Meeting Of The Minds

Officially November 4-7 ... but for Jimmy Buffett's fan-base, otherwise known as "Parrot Heads", to "party with a purpose" goes on all the time as each festival is designed specifically to raise charitable funds for needy groups around the country!

Now ... if you've never attended the Meeting Of The Minds, I should let you know that music is going on all the time! All day ... every day!

As an officially invited guest of MOTM, I'll be playing at the Casa Marina Pool from 10 a.m. til noon on Saturday, November 6.

But as soon as I know I'll also be posting where I'll be playing up and down the Keys before and after MOTM, as well as the rest of the week there in Key West!
